| We are getting closer to relaxing in the Outer Banks! About a month to go! I just wanted to give you a little more info about the houses and what they include. I will be emailing everyone which house they are in closer to the time (in case there are any more cancelations). The addresses for the two houses are: 1407 & 1409 N. Virginia Dare Trail, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948 Everyone will have their own room and each room has it’s own bathroom. As a courtesy, one roll of toilet paper is provided in each bathroom. Each house includes one paper towel roll and a starter dish detergent, dishwasher powder, potholders, and HE laundry detergent. In both homes there are: Double Ovens, 2 full Refrigerators, at least 2 dishwashers, three sets of washers and dryers (which are high efficiency). Patrick & I will be bringing extra toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, and laundry detergent. If you would like to bring extra toilet paper, paper towels, or laundry detergent for one or both houses, please email me (that would be a huge help)! If you have a special coffee that you would like to bring, please bring it. I know my mom will be bringing a bunch of different flavored coffees and coffee filters for the coffee makers. The coffee maker types for each house are listed below: The Yellow House (Caribbean Jewel): Level 3 has 2 coffee makers one is a cone filter and 1 is a regular filter Level 1 has a cone filter coffee maker Total of 3 coffee makers with 8 – 10 cup capacity The Blue House (Magnolia Cay): L1 has a Cuisinart individual cup Keurig style L2 has 2 coffee makers both Cuisinart - one is a single Keurig type brewer and the other is a 12-cup that uses cone filters L3 has another Cuisinart individual Keurig style Both houses also have charcoal and gas grills, saunas, home theaters, hot tubs, and pool tables. We are trying to have one of the houses open the heated pool for us, but it all depends on the temperatures closer to the time we arrive. The pools usually open in April. I hope this helps a little bit with all of your questions! I am so excited about all the food everyone has signed up for on: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C084EA8AB2FA0F49-dinners When you go to the page above, scroll down the list and choose which meal or meals you would like to sign up for by checking the small sign up box under the meal. When you are done checking the box or boxes (meal or meals) that you want to contribute to then scroll down to the bottom and hit the large submit and sign up button. This will take you to the login page, where you sign up and enter the foods that you want to bring. If you still need help with the sign up page, please email me what you would like to bring/make and for what day/meal and I can manually add your name. As for the food, for the most part, it’s a big potluck. We want everyone to have fun with it. So if you hate cooking and baking, maybe you could bring your favorite drink/alcohol or snacks to share? The kitchens are huge in each house so there should be plenty of room for everyone. If you are flying, and you need a certain type of pan, pot, or ingredient please let us know in advance so we can make sure someone that is driving can bring it. There are also several grocery stores around the area so you can pick everything up when you get here. Please email me at picjm@aol.com with any questions. I am still checking that email everyday and will get back to you a.s.a.p. See you soon! Love you, Jennifer
Since a lot of you like to cook and/or bake we have decided to have themed nights for dinners. We will be sending around sign up sheets for those of you who would like to contribute! Dinner will be served at 6pm every night in the yellow house. On Sunday morning my mom (Jan McNerney) will be making everyone a “Welcome Breakfast” which will be served in the Blue house. If enough people want breakfast every morning then we will add it to the sign up sheet and breakfast will be served in the blue house. We want people to be able to make their own schedules so the only meal set is dinner at 6pm every night except Monday night (the night of our vow renewal ceremony). We plan on renewing our vows on the beach around sunset (6:30pm) and possibly eat dinner around 5pm. We will be bringing some alcohol but please feel free to bring your favorite drinks as well! Dress code is very relaxed! This is a vacation and we want everyone to have a great time! As you can see, we plan on having a Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday night – it is our favorite holiday and when will we ever be able to have both family and friends from both families together for an actual Thanksgiving? We are so excited to see everyone in less than two months! SATURDAY: FINGER FOODS AND DESSERT SUNDAY: JAN’S WELCOME BREAKFAST (BLUE HOUSE) COOKOUT (DINNER) MONDAY: CROCKPOT DISHES (VOW RENEWAL CEREMONY) TUESDAY: ITALIAN NIGHT WEDNESDAY: MEXICAN NIGHT (TACOS) THURSDAY: THANKSGIVING DINNER
FRIDAY: LEFTOVER NIGHT To simplify things, we have decided to assign everyone to a room in one of the houses. If you have any special needs or requests please let us know as soon as possible. Check-in time will be 6pm on Saturday March 22 and checkout the following Saturday is 1100am. Please do not follow the check-in times on the house websites. If you are arriving on Saturday night, please eat dinner before you arrive at the houses. We will have snacks and desserts to munch on when you arrive on Saturday night. We are so excited to see everyone in a few months!!!! We just wanted to send out a quick email for those of you that are flying into North Carolina. The houses we will be staying in are right next door to each other and are located in Kill Devil Hills, NC. We are working on getting the exact addresses and will send you the info when we get it. The check in time will be at 6pm on Saturday evening. The airports listed below are the closest to the houses and the distances are from the airport to the center of town in Kill Devil Hills: Norfolk (ORF) 84 Miles Newport News (PHF) 109 Miles Pitt-Greenville (PGV) 134 Miles Due to the distance of the houses from the airport, you will need to make your own arrangements to get to the houses in Kill Devil Hills. There is a lot to do in the area and you will want a car to check out the lighthouses, the Wright Brothers memorial, shopping, golfing, etc… Please email me with any concerns or questions you have. We will be sending out more emails shortly! See you soon, Jennifer & Patrick We wanted to say how excited we are about honeymooning at Meeru Island Resort in the Maldives! We find ourselves dreaming about relaxing on the beach with a fruity drink, snorkeling in the clear blue waters and enjoying uninterrupted quality time together. As of right now, we are still in the process of planning the dates and activities on our honeymoon but everything that we listed on our registry will definitely be enjoyed while we are there! |
